Partnership Program

Agreement

Partners will enter into an Agreement with Déjar International that covers expected service level performance in daily operations, pricing, co-branding, promotion and marketing.

Collaboration

The Déjar International Partner will:

  • Provide the infrastructure to run the service.
(Déjar International can assist with the identification and selection of an appropriate Data Centre for this operation).
  • Appoint a dedicated e-commerce manager to sell and manage the process.
  • Appoint a dedicated Déjar Technician (trained by Déjar International) to operate the service.

Déjar International will:

  • Provide the Déjar EDMS software
  • Assist with the technical establishment of the system
  • Appoint a Partnership manager to work along side the partner's e-commerce manager
  • Provide ongoing support for the service, including remote administration, marketing and promotional assistance

Co-Branding

The Déjar International Partner will be free to brand and market their e-commerce solution as they see fit.

Any branding and promotion carried out will be co-branded with the Déjar International brand. This is likely to be a combination of a slogan "A Déjar International Partner", and "Powered By Déjar", and a logo.

Implementation

While the implementation process for a new partner has become quite routine, we are aware that the service is only as good as the product and delivery at the local level.

Often the most time-consuming part of the implementation is the establishment of an infrastructure platform, and we are working with international hardware vendors and Data Centre operators to modularise the platform and ensure optimised local performance.

Typically, a new partner approaches us with a target launch customer in mind, and we will continue the partnership implementation work right through to ensuring this first customer is implemented smoothly.

The locally established service platform is connected to our New Zealand support centre for continued support and back-up operations. However, all data is processed, stored, and served locally.

Once the platform is operational, we continue to work closely with the partner to ensure their Déjar Technician is trained in the daily operation, and their E-commerce Manager has an effective sales strategy that will work under local conditions.

Daily Operations

As in New Zealand, the Déjar partner will spend substantial effort in creating demonstration archives for prospective customers. The web delivery mechanism is an effective way to demonstrate the service, with a trial site up and running in a matter of days.

Completing these trials is a very beneficial marketing strategy. Also, in successfully creating the trial archive the job has effectively been set up. Once the customer agrees to take the service the Déjar Partner can commit to a surprisingly quick implementation time with a high degree of confidence.

Once accepted, service for a new customer can usually be implemented in less than a week. This is in stark contrast with some Déjar competitors, who quote an implementation period of up to 60 days!

Often the largest effort is in securing the connection from the service platform to the customer. Actual set-up of a new archive takes less than an hour once all the resources are avaialable.

Production of a Déjar archive is relatively automated. Normally. the spool file is received via FTP into a receiving file directory. On receipt, the Déjar archiving software is automatically invoked, and shut down again on completion. Typically this process happens overnight, and unattended archiving is quite normal. On completion, the Déjar Technician checks archive logs to ensure a successful archive, and carries out standard quality control processes. At this time the processed images are available for viewing over the web to appropriately authorised persons.

Enhanced administration tools include confirmation of transfer of the print spool, confirmation of a successful archive, and generation of monthly invoices. Internal processes include checking the general structure of the spool file prior to archiving, checking that the servers are operating properly, and that web access is being maintained.

The theoretical capacity of the Déjar EDP-R service is huge. The Déjar Archiver is capable of archiving up to 200 million images per year, based on a 10-hour day over a normal business year (22 days per month), and we can of course operate more than one Archiver. Technician time for this capacity is small, and tends to be negligible once many of the administrative functions are automated.
