Déjar is a sophisticated software solution designed to offer enterprise-level archive and retrieval services.
It is designed to run on a high-performance x86 platform.
It would be a brave company to guarantee performance of any portion of the service on a corporate website... (and we are not going to either!)
However, we are willing to give some indications for your planning purposes. Also, if you have a specific job in mind, we can arrange some specific tests to more closely quantify the performance. Architecture
The Déjar architecture uses 48 bit integers to store page IDs, which means Déjar is capable of uniquely identifying 2.8 x 1014 pages. (this is 281 trillion, or 1,000 per second for over 8,900 years!) This implies that your database architecture is likely to run into storage performance limitations well before the Déjar architecture.
Archive Speed
Depends upon the size and complexity of the archive, but not usually less than 1000 images per minute.
Archive Size
Depends upon the printstream, and the size and complexity of the archive, but will average 1 KB per archived image.
Fidelity
Déjar will give you a 100% true dot-for-dot image of the original print image.
Serving Speed
Yeah.... right! With the product, running a Windows thin client on a standard 100Mb/s LAN, we expect to return an image in less than 2 seconds. The internet is another matter entirely. In NZ we use DSL, and typically get an image in under 5 seconds.
